And what do you do with this potentially explosive information if the story is breaking not under the klieg lights of The New York Times, but rather in the relative privacy of a cybercafe on a tropical island in the Indian Ocean? I’m not sure if it’s irony or good luck that landed Isabel Fonseca’s swirling examination of midlife crises on my desk just as the Eliot Spitzer mess broke (infidelity being a duh major wind force), but the coincidence sure made reading this clever, well-observed novel that much more compelling. ![]()
